dibblymixdibbly

So I didn't make a single track mix like Dan, but instead a playlist of tracks. However, you're gonna have to put them in the right order, because I'm pretty sure they won't just go that way when you download them. Here is the order.

my creator/wye oak
i make windows/forest fire
i wish i knew how it would feel to be free/roots and john legend
it is what it is/skipp coon and mr. nick
so high/french montana feat. curren$y
taxi/ski beatz feat. mos def and whosane
hall&oats/the roots
scheming/slum village feat. dilla, pos, phife
everybody loves the sunshine/seu jorge and almaz
the longest day/megafaun
people, turn around/delta spirit
jealous guy/donny hathaway
someday we'll be together/johnny and jackey
everyday will be like a holiday/william bell
this wind/the tallest man on earth

100 post challenge

All right peoples, we've had a good summer off here at dibbly. It's been super slow on the posts, no pointing fingers cause we're all guilty. However now that things have picked up I am proposing a challenge, throwing down the gauntlet if you will.
100 posts by the end of the year.
I don't think it's impossible, we did it last year, we're just running a little behind....
But with some hopefully busy months ahead I think we can do it.
To commemorate this event I've decided another Kid Creole and the Coconuts post is in order, this a live one with a whole sassy gay innuendo breakdown in the middle and everything.
Enjoy and keep posting!

KID CREOLE AND THE COCONUTS!!!

Always been a huge fan of these guys and can't get this song out of my head this week.
And what an awesome video!

Friends of the dibbly family, OJO performing "La Bolsa Blanca" live this past Saturday.
I missed the intro and my dancing was getting a bit rowdier by the end, but good times!

in honor of st. patty's

this is a set from the irish band I used to be in, back in the day, in high school. I think its from 2000, a show at the Calliope concert series in Pittsburgh, we were opening for a band called the Freight Hoppers. The O'Connell Street Buskers, featuring Robbie Whelan, Eric Hounshell, Lila Schantz, and myself. Link: Mediafire.

for your listening pleasure - the herdsire.

Ok. This is one of the more incredible things...ever. This alpaca, in the picture above, is named...Beretta! This is the description given on the website, "This herdsire has macho written all over him. From his proud presence and large testicles, to his amazing silky, high luster, independently locked suri fleece, to his light line breed pedigree."

No joke. Here is the website.

To commemorate this glorious discovery, I'm throwing up the recording of Alpaca Beretta on WRCT 88.3, CMU radio, on the show Advanced Calculus that we recorded on January 19th. I've recently split it up track by track, so hopefully that'll be fun for the whole family. Sound isn't the greatest on some tracks (maybe a little unbalanced) but it's pretty good on most. Here.

Bonus: Dani and I recorded Codeine by Buffy St. Marie when he and Margot visited Chicago. Here.

more hip hop goodness

First off, here is the video for the new Roots song "How I Got Over." Video nothing really special, but I'm a fan of the song (although the sound on this version isn't as good as the mp3 I have).

Also, if you've got some time on your hands, live video of De La Soul, a full concert from their "20 Years High and Rising" Tour can be seen here.

blakroc

Some of yinz probably know about this already, but this looks like a really sweet project between the Black Keys and a couple handfuls of hip-hop luminaries. Check it out!
