dappled

It turns out I did actually get decent images of these two, which are the latest things I've done. They are both 16x12, acrylic, sumi, and watercolor monotype on panel.

new art/crit set-up

Just a few quick pictures of the set up I had for my final crit - most of this stuff showed up before in the pictures I posted for open studios - I went and took detail shots of them too, but of course the ones I haven't posted yet were out of focus for the most part, so I'm just posting one detail for now.

This one is around 40x50, acrylic monoprint on newsprint, mounted on panel.

holy crap!

I went to probably the best concert I've ever seen last night - Dave Rawlings Machine. Comprised of Dave Rawlings, Gillian Welch, and three members of Old Crow Medicine Show (Ketch Secor, Willie Watson, and Morgan Jahnig) - they put on one hell of a show, playing the entire Machine album (released a few weeks ago) along with a few of Gillian's songs, an Old Crow tune here and there, and a lot of covers. Anyways, I'm not posting this just to gloat - in addition to pictures, I took some video, which you will find below, of Dave Rawlings and Co. covering the Weight, by the Band, as probably their fifth encore.

Dave also busted out the Banjo a few times -

So good.

To continue the subject of looking through, these are the stairway / moonway to the roof at my new studio.
